Developer's log: Why I built Minimal Expense: Travel Ledger
Minimal Expense: Travel Ledger started from a simple question:
Can we make it easy to track spending while traveling or on the go—with minimal effort?
Over the years I've worked on projects of different scales, and my way of thinking about products has kept evolving.
One thing I care about more and more is whether a product truly fits into the user's real-life context.
I've always kept a ledger, but as travel and business trips increased, I noticed that many expense apps don't feel natural in "on-the-move" situations.
Too many steps, too much setup—often adding friction instead of reducing it, so that logging expenses ends up interrupting the moment.
So I started building something different.
Not more features, but a few clear principles:

- Clear recap for each trip or business journey
Minimal Expense: Travel Ledger isn't meant to be an all-in-one finance tool. It's meant to sit quietly in the background—during travel, commutes, and daily life—and be just enough.
The product is still evolving. I'll share thoughts on design choices and the reasoning behind them here from time to time.
